UNC Asheville operates three campus shuttle routes during the academic year, the red, blue and purple routes, taking students around campus and to nearby locations. After hours, the University offers an evening shuttle to off-campus locations for students, including nearby grocery and drug stores. Shuttles on a designated route are identifiable by a colored block affixed to the front or side of the vehicle.
Regular campus shuttle routes operate Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. Evening shuttle service runs from 5:30/5:40 p.m. until 9:30/9:40 p.m Monday-Thursday (Red and Blue).
Note: Short service delays are possible from 12:00 p.m. through 12:15 p.m. on weekdays during driver shift changes.
Purple Route (Service begins 8/1/2022)
The purple route services parking lots 1 through 34, bringing riders to campus from those lots. The shuttle runs from 7 am through 5:30 pm on a continuous 9-minute loop. ***8/1 through 8/14 service until 5:30
Riders can also use the Red and Blue shuttles when available.
Blue Route
Blue Route begins service at The Verge at 7:36 a.m. Monday-Friday and departs from the following stops every twelve minutes:

When OLLI is in session, the Blue Route will take passengers to the upper lot of the Reuter Center upon request.
Please note, those looking for transport to Steam Studios will need to board the Blue Shuttle at the Bulldog stop (Kimmel) and request the driver take you to the STEAM Studio.
Red Route
The Red route begins service at Hawthorne Northside at 7:36 a.m. Monday-Friday and departs from the following stops every twelve minutes:

Red Evening Route begins Service at 5:40 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m. The Blue Evening Routes begins service at 5:30 and runs until 9:30 p.m.

Due to Safety Risks, we cannot pick up or unload passengers along Merrimon Ave, W.T. Weaver, or Broadway. If you have a destination on Merrimon, please use the ART Bus (N1 or N2 when available).
Breaks and Holidays: Red and Blue operate when classes are in session during the Fall and Spring semesters. This includes exam week and reading days. However, when there are no regularly scheduled classes taking place, holidays, or other breaks between semesters, there is no shuttle service. UNC Asheville’s partnership with the City of Asheville’s Passport program is available when classes are not in session. There is no shuttle service during the Summer I and Summer II session.
*Short service delays are possible from 12:00 p.m. through 12:15 p.m. on weekdays during driver shift changes. The shuttles will detour to 838 Riverside Drive for the shift change.
